Sensor Protection
Sensor protection covers enclosures and system housings that shield I/O modules and field electronics against dust, moisture, vibration, and chemical exposure. The dominant design here is the cabinet-style system housing for remote I/O, used in process plants, hazardous areas, and outdoor field installations.
The assortment centers on excom system housings in the 650 x 550 x 260 mm format, supplied predominantly by Turck for Ex-zone and process I/O integration. These are pre-configured carriers for distributed I/O rather than single-sensor housings.
Pricing reflects the system character of the products. Frequent configurations sit at 8841 EUR, 8912 EUR, 8940 EUR, and 9012 EUR, with higher-spec variants at 9260 EUR and 9294 EUR.
Budget-side configurations fall in the lower price half up to 7514 EUR, while fully populated systems with extended module counts sit in the upper half from 7514 to 10138 EUR. The price step typically tracks module density and Ex-rating.
The excom platform supports HART-capable I/O, intrinsically safe field circuits, and integration into PROFIBUS or similar fieldbus backbones. Standard housings ship pre-assembled for Zone 1 / Zone 2 deployment; consult the individual product datasheet for exact certification scope and module fit.
