Radar Sensors

Radar sensors detect distance, level, and object presence by emitting microwave pulses and evaluating the reflected signal. They work through foam, dust, vapor, and temperature gradients where optical or ultrasonic methods fail. Typical use cases are tank level monitoring, bulk solids, and non-contact object detection on conveyors and machinery.

The assortment splits into two functional groups: level measurement in tanks and silos, and distance or object detection on production lines. Most devices come from Turck, with measurement ranges starting at 50 mm for short-range object detection and 100 mm for compact installations.

Range coverage scales with application. Short to mid-range models start at 150 mm and 350 mm, reaching 10 m. Long-range level sensors begin at 2000 mm or 3500 mm blind zone for taller silos.

Ambient temperature ratings cover outdoor and process-side installation. The bulk of the assortment is rated -40 …+65 °C, with a smaller share at -25 …+65 °C for sheltered indoor use.

Pricing reflects range and feature set: entry-level units sit around 619 EUR and 721 EUR, mid-tier devices at 740 EUR and 761 EUR, long-range and IO-Link variants at 984 EUR and 1029 EUR. Configurable parameters typically include switchpoints, output type, and signal filtering via IO-Link.
