Connectors
Connectors link sensors, actuators, and controllers via defined contact systems with coded mechanics and shielded conductors. Common designs include circular threaded couplings (M8, M12, M23), flat connectors for fiber-optic heads, and inductive coupler pairs for contactless signal and power transfer across rotating or moving axes. Typical use is in factory automation, hydraulic skids, welding cells, and conveyor lines.
The dominant interface in the assortment is M12, with M23 for higher pole counts and current loads. Pole counts cluster at 3 and 4 for standard PNP/NPN sensors, with 5, 8, and 12 poles for encoders and bus devices.
Operating voltage ratings concentrate at 60 V and 30 V DC, while AC versions reach 240 V and 250 V. Conductor cross-sections of 0.34 mm² and 0.75 mm² cover signal and power lines, with finer 0.14 mm² for compact bus pinouts.
Cable lengths run from 0.3 m pigtails through 2 m and 5 m standards up to 10 m drops. Ambient ratings cover -30 °C for general industry and -40 °C for outdoor and cold-store installations, mostly in PUR jacketing for drag-chain and weld-spatter exposure.
